Abstract

Farmers’ Terms of Trade (FTT) is the ratio of the index of prices received by farmers (IT) to the index of prices paid by farmers (IB). FTT reflects the terms of trade between agricultural products and the goods and services consumed, as well as the production costs.
In August 2024, the FTT of West Java increased by 0.96 percent compared to July 2024, from 110.92 to 111.99. The agricultural production price index (IT) rose by 0.90 percent, while the index of goods and services consumed by farmers (IB) decreased by 0.06 percent.
Nationally, Agriculture’s Terms of Trade (NTUP) in West Java in August 2024 increased by 0.84 percent, while the Production Cost and Capital Goods Addition Index (BPPBM) rose by 0.05 percent.
The price of dry harvested rice at the farmer level increased by 3.95 percent, and the price of medium rice at the milling level rose by 3.66 percent.
