Abstract

In September 2024, West Java experienced a year-on-year (y-o-y) inflation of 2.09 percent, with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 106.68. The highest inflation occurred in Bekasi City at 2.34 percent with a CPI of 107.05, while the lowest inflation was in Cirebon City at 0.83 percent with a CPI of 104.54.
This y-o-y inflation was driven by price increases reflected in the expenditure group indexes, including: the food, beverages, and tobacco group at 2.93 percent; the clothing and footwear group at 1.72 percent; the housing, water, electricity, and household fuels group at 0.65 percent; the household goods, equipment, and routine maintenance group at 1.06 percent; the health group at 2.52 percent; the transportation group at 0.54 percent; the recreation, sports, and culture group at 3.53 percent; the education group at 2.27 percent; the food and beverage/restaurant group at 2.14 percent; and the personal care and other services group at 8.23 percent. Meanwhile, the expenditure group that saw a decrease in its index was the information, communication, and financial services group, which dropped by 0.45 percent.
