Abstract

The highest inflation was recorded in Subang Regency at 2.90% with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 108.47, while the lowest was in Cirebon City at 1.18% with a CPI of 104.70.
West Java Province experienced a month-to-month (m-to-m) inflation rate of 0.07% in August 2024, whereas the year-to-date (y-t-d) inflation rate was 1.23%.
The year-on-year (y-o-y) inflation was driven by price increases indicated by the rising indices of various expenditure groups, namely: food, beverages, and tobacco by 3.71%; clothing and footwear by 1.77%; housing, water, electricity, gas, and other fuels by 0.63%; furnishings, household equipment, and routine household maintenance by 1.06%; health by 2.50%; transportation by 1.35%; recreation, sports, and culture by 3.54%; education by 2.06%; restaurants and accommodation by 2.13%; and personal care and other services by 7.99%. Conversely, the index for the information, communication, and financial services group decreased by 0.35%.
