Average monthly per capita expenditure is expenditure on food consumption calculated over the past week, while non-food consumption is calculated over the past month and year. Both food and non-food consumption are then converted into average monthly expenditure. The average consumption/expenditure per capita figure presented is obtained from the quotient of the total consumption of all households to the total population (both consuming and not consuming).
