Since 2021, Indonesia has entered the phase of the ageing population structure, where around 1 in 10 residents are elderly. The aging population phenomenon can be a second demographic bonus, when the proportion of the elderly is increasing but still productive and can contribute to the country's economy, but at the same time it can be a development challenge when it is unproductive and becomes part of the vulnerable population.
